Trailer for The Lego Movie. It’s directed by Miller and Lord (Clone High, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street), so don’t sleep on this. Also Chris Pratt is the main character, so that is a plus.

Finished up my Spider-Boy illustration - i kind of tweaked his outfit a bit; lost the jacket and overal took more cues from Superboy’s later 90s costume to streamline it a bit more.

It’s a vast improvement, I’d say.

Here’s another infographic I did for HalloweenCostumes.com, this time illustrating the history of the emblem on Superman’s chest.

Until I researched this, I had no idea just how many variations the shield went through in its first five years, before they settled on the classic design that went mostly unchanged for over five decades.

My previous infographic (illustrating the evolution of Iron Man’s armor) can be seen here.

Somebody on Twitter was bitching about how they wished the Man of Steel chest emblem was more “historic” or something and I wanted to be like, “Son, which historic chest emblem do you mean?”

Here’s something I cooked up right before my fill-in issues for IDW’s Ghostbusters were announced. I had been thinking this might be a fun thing to update as other projects are announced. Like an advent calendar except there’s no chocolate. I’m posting it today because, at least for the time being, there won’t be any more quick sketches. There’s too much work to do and I have a bad habit of letting myself get distracted with them. I’ll post new versions of this as gigs are announced. I’m very excited about what’s coming up this year and hope you are too. I will still post progress shots from work here on tumblr from time to time, if that sort of thing interests you.

And a quick note— this isn’t necessarily how Venkman will look in the issues of Ghostbusters I’m drawing. I’m still working on the best way to approach the book so it doesn’t scare off the regular readers.

Superman Of Steel: The Animated Series.

We need a new Superman cartoon.

I made this silly thing today for no real reason other than I was watching the 90s Animated Series with my son and was reminded how I really loved the 3rd season in particular. Admittedly, I got emotional all over again by Dan Turpin’s demise as I did with the new Man of Steel trailers. And I’m really starting to understand and appreciate some of the elements of the new movie suit. When stripped down and simplified it’s actually not all that different from the Fliescher’s, Dick Sprang’s or Bruce Timm’s designs and color palettes.

So there you have it. A new mash-up of sorts: the new one-sheet of Henry Cavill as Superman Of Steel in the (relative) Bruce Timm style…
