I never thought I’d ever say I’m looking forward to a Conan comic, but damn if Wood/Cloonan/Carnevale didn’t sucker me right in. Dailyblam has a preview.
February’s going to be a good month for comics.

Becky Cloonan is drawing a Nick Spencer-penned Doctor Doom miniseries. Consider it sold. TO ME.

I feel like I haven’t reiterated how much I love Becky Cloonan’s work lately.
She’s worked with one of my favorite writers Brian Wood on DEMO, Northlanders, Jennie 1.5, and DMZ.
You really need to be checking some of those out if you haven’t already.
Deathsnake from Becky Cloonan’s East Coast Rising.
I have yet to read this but being a big Becky Cloonan fan I’m sure I’ll pick it up at some point. I’ve heard it’s a bit more manga-ey than some of her more recent work but if you’ve read anything from her run on American Virgin or DEMO, you know she can draw.
Interesting tidbit: Cloonan had 100+ pages of volume 2 drawn when Tokyopop canceled its production. Lamesauce.
Strangely enough, both Vertigo titles. Ok, maybe it’s not so strange.

I, Zombie #1 (Darwyn Cooke variant)
Gwen Dylan is a gravedigger in an eco-friendly cemetery…and a zombie detective. Once a month, she has to eat a human brain - both to keep from going all ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ and to keep her own memories intact.
As a result, Gwen’s mind is crowded with the dead person’s thoughts. And lately, she feels compelled to fulfill their final requests. Torn between a mysterious mummy and a dashing young monster-hunter, Gwen is set for adventures beyond imagination!

Demo Vol 2 #4
In a crappy campground upstate, young Colin is murdered by local youth. Or is he? “Waterbreather” takes the revenge fantasy and twists it around on itself as Colin grows up with a huge secret and crushing guilt – as well as the very acute sensation that he does not belong on the surface of the Earth…

Cinco de Mayo special!
Hellboy In Mexico
During the 1950s, Hellboy caravans across Mexico with a trio of vampire-killing luchadores, finding the undead; evil turkeys; a terrible bat god; and a little too much tequila.
