New The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Posters
In theaters May 2, 2014 (US)
My guess is Jamie Foxx showed up, dictated only one photo could be taken (due to the awkward looking nature of the wire work), then peaced the F out.
Or Sony’s marketing team is just plain lazy.
Three scenarios, one pose.
In his first appearance, Superman had an embossed/raised “S” shield AND cuffs on his sleeves. It’s interesting to note, especially since there seemed to be some controversy or general dislike over the Man Of Steel film’s “modern” costume design.
Trailer for The Lego Movie. It’s directed by Miller and Lord (Clone High, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street), so don’t sleep on this. Also Chris Pratt is the main character, so that is a plus.
Michelangelo, Superman, and Chris Pratt? Guys, apparently I’m going to watch The Lego Movie.
okay i’ll bite.
Finally, The World’s End trailer!
Steady on, you alchie.
Yes, this is official and yes, I’m SUPER into it.
[EDIT] now in hi-res!
"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope - Superman."
Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN. YES.
okay, the photography of this still has the same feel like the Watchmen and SuckerPunch (sigh), but that costume still looks pretty awesome.
(Just look at that Fred Wray style “S” crest!!)
for those wondering, yes, we here at Boss Battle took the liberty to crank up the saturation in this still for our own purposes. The regular version can be found elsewhere, if you’re into that dreary Superman look.
After hearing this news and checking all the nerd-sites, I found that there’s a ton of controversy in the talkbacks surrounding this decision. Most fanboys are in an uproar because gasp - “PERRY WHITE ISN’T BLACK IN THE COMIX!”
I for one and pretty exciting about all the casting announcements so far (Kevin Costner, Russel Crowe, Amy Adams, etc) and Mr. Morpheus is no exception. Sure, he’s black, not an old white dude like in the comics. But they did the same for Nick Fury in the Marvel Movies (and everyone cheered when they saw Samuel L. Jackson in the role).
So i don’t get it. I say get over it, racist fanboys. This is inspired casting the whole way through and now I just hope the script is as good as the actors filling up the movie.
IGN report that during last night’s premiere screening of Batman: Year One, executive producer Bruce Timm revealed the next wave of DC universe animated features. The first, Justice League: Doom, we already knew about. The next was an adaptation of one-shot Superman story, Superman vs. The Elite. Pretty good so far, eh?
Well, here’s something even more exciting. The third movie they’ll be releasing in 2012 is none other than Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, it’s first ever two-parter. “It’s going to be very, very faithful to the comic,” Timm thankfully promised the lucky fans in attendance. No further details were revealed, although a question from the audience did prompt voice director Andrea Romano to say they would consider using Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill for the voices of Batman and the Joker.
Other bits of info which were let slip during the Q&A included Timm saying that The Killing Joke HAS been considered (but is not currently being worked on) and that Kingdom Come will probably never be produced in the form of an animated movie. “It’s just not made for 2D animation. It’s not a good fit.”
Whoa whoa whoa! a CONFIRMED 2-Part Dark Knight Returns animated movie?! Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will be considered to voice?! count me in!!
I didn’t love the book as much as most people that consider it a classic, but I’m totally on board with this news.
